During the past two weeks, Elijah has been spending lots of time at the piano.  He is using the computer program on my piano to learn songs as he sees me teach them to my students. He learned rhythms first, then notes, and now songs, and he's beginning to use all of his fingers on both hands to play these songs.

He often plays while sitting on his knees so that he can reach the touch screen to navigate through the program.  I am asking him, once in a while, to try and play the song again while sitting on his bottom.  He uses very stiff fingers and arms, right now.  As he gains confidence using his fingers, I'll gently work to improve his technique.

Right now, I have to show him one or two things quickly, as he hates for me to break his concentration and intensity.  He often growls, "UGH!!  You messed me up!"  He doesn't seem receptive to my suggestions, but I know he internalizes them because I see him trying over and over, attempting to take my advice.

He's tickled with himself when he gets things working well.  He'll come to me and say, "Mommy, guess what?  I did ….  !  Wanna come see?"

In this video you will see him practice, goof off and "perform" his favorite song (this week!) Ten Little Indians.
