These are books I recommend for my students as they progress in their viola playing, grouped by age and ability level. I have provided links to purchase these from several different places. Some cost more, but offer free shipping, or have a larger selection, and others are places where you may want to shop for other supplies while you’re at it – the choice is yours, of course.

These books are my recommended next step after completing Essential Elements 2000 for Strings levels 1 and 2. I love this series as the difficulty builds throughout the book, gradually yet swiftly. Be sure to purchase the Viola and Piano books, as well as the CD. The piano accompaniment is essential for solo performances, and the CD’s are essential tools to help learn the songs more accurately and quickly.
** Note: When you order these books, the viola part should be included inside the piano accompaniment part. The CD’s are sold separately.
